Job-Applied Laminate

Job Applied Laminate, also known as Self Edge or Site-Built laminate, is one of the most common types of countertop installation techniques in use today.  From residential to commercial applications, Job Applied Laminate installations have proven their value and durability for decades.  A Job Applied application consists of the installation of 3/4 inch MDF decking (substrate), sizing and cutting of the High Pressure Laminate plastic, application of the adhesive and installation of the plastic.

Since the decking and the High Pressure Laminate plastic are installed separately, the seams are staggered, or offset, making Job Applied Laminate applications the recommended laminate installation for wet areas, such as kitchen sink counters, where seams are within 24 inches of a wet area.  Job Applied Laminate applications are recommended for runs longer than 142 inches and for odd-shaped/sized spaces.  On-site fabrication ensures a proper fit and allows for greater flexibility of design.  Job Applied installations also allow for the option of full coved backsplashes where the laminate curves, as one piece, from the counter onto the wall up to the bottom of the upper cabinets, thereby eliminating seams and creating a beautiful, easy to maintain surface that will last for years.
